Ahmed Gamil (USA)

Ahmed Gamil is a PhD candidate at Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Dept, University of Arizona. His research focus is Modeling and Optimizing Concentrated Solar Power and Thermal Storage Systems. He obtained his BSc (Honors) and Msc in Mechanical Engineering from PETRONAS University of Technology (UTP) in Malaysia. His Msc. main aim was to evaluate the solar thermal power output of a small heliostat field under Malaysia climate for electricity generation as a preliminary phase to build a Solar Power Tower plant in Malaysia. Ahmed was among few applicants who received Fulbright Scholarship. He was a visiting researcher at University of Arizona, Tucson under the supervisor of Professor Peiwen Li at the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering department.
