Ihab Tewfik is Senior Lecturer [Associate Professor] University of Westminster, London UK. Ihab is a Registered Nutritionist [AfN, UK] with significant expertise in planning, implementing and evaluating sustainable public health nutrition intervention programmes at population level. Dr Tewfik has been the Programme Director for Human Nutrition programme for twelve years [since 2007]. He completed his Master and Doctorate in Public Health Nutrition (MPH; DrPH) at University of Alexandria, as well as PhD at London South Bank University UK. As Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH), Ihab’s international research agenda expanded to 10 research projects with UNICEF. Nationally, he has carried out three Food Standards Agency (FSA, UK) projects and one project on Biomarkers for predicting breast radiotherapy funded by the National Cancer Research Institute – UK. Ihab has worked as international consultant to support capacity building for healthcare workforces in developing countries. He is regularly invited as keynote speaker on workshops, CPD and short-training courses and he is key team member to develop global nutritional education programmes to communicate relevant competencies around the globe. Ihab is collaborating with many universities in US [Harvard], UK, EU, Middle East. Asia and Africa, on aspects related to knowledge exchange and public health nutrition intervention programmes that employ sustainable dietary diversification and behavioral modification approaches, known as “Local Food for Global Health”.
