IsDB President Dr. Al Jasser Visits Indonesia to Asses IsDBs Group Finance Project
Jakarta, Indonesia, 26 March 2022 – Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) President and Group Chairman, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, made an official work visit to the Republic of Indonesia to assess the ongoing IsDB Group financed projects in the country and to attend bilateral meetings with Senior Leadership of the government and key stakeholders as well as other development partners in the country.
The IsDB Group Regional Hub team facilitated, for H.E. Dr. Al Jasser, visits to various impactful projects in the country. The IsDB President accompanied by officials from The PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) paid a visit to the Elsewedy Electric Center to understand how the company is implementing ‘’The Power Grid Enhancement Project’’. On his visit to the site, Dr. Al Jasser noted the crucial role of access to energy for the well-being and economic development of the concerned households.
Dr. Al Jasser also took his time to pay a visit to the Dharmais Cancer Hospital to understand the status of various collaborative projects the Bank is undertaking in the hospital. Dr. Al Jasser, in his meeting with senior management of the hospital, reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to sustain the war against cancer and to further expand the partnership for the benefit of all people of all ages.
During his visit to the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Al Jasser held several bilateral meetings with senior government officials such as Minister of Health, H.E. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Central Bank Governor, Dr. Perry Warjiyo, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, H.E. Mr. Pahala Mansury among other key senior government officials.
Dr. Al Jasser also co-hosted the IsDB Group G20 Presidency Stakeholders event with Minister of Finance H.E and IsDB Governor H.E. Sri Mulyani Indrawati. At the event which saw attendance from high-level government officials, Dr. Al Jasser affirmed the Bank’s support for the country and its agenda for the G20 Presidency.
The visit by Dr. Al Jasser and his delegation reaffirmed IsDB Group’s long-standing commitment and desire to support the concerted efforts of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in ensuring inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth, rapid post-COVID-19 recovery, and a prosperous future for its people.
