Hassan Mofadel obtained his B.Sc., Egypt, M. Sc. Sudan and PhD Malaysia 2005, majoring environment stress physiology emphasized on low agronomic manipulations such as using compost for increasing water holding capacity and partial rootdrying technique (PRD) for improving fertilizer and water use efficiency. Currently working at Kenana Sugar Company (KSC), Sudan as R&D Manager, Department of Strategic Planning since 2012, that responsible for innovations and studies for energy and food as well as CSR, sustainability and environment audit and reviewing for ongoing projects and future plans in this respect, he leads all projects that improved the cane model adopted by KSC which is relied on products integration and diversification that aiming towards zero waste management. The most recent project is waste to energy of ethanol spend mesh (vinasse) to biogas for direct use by boilers, water to be recycled to forest and horticulture production whereas the sludge to be co-composted with filter mud and other organic materials for organic fertilizers. Dr. Mofadel also actively involved in research since 2000 up-to-date he has more than 40 scientific papers presented and published in peer journals, national and international conferences and workshops besides teaching Waste Planning and Management under graduate course in some universities
