Description

Dr. Sidiga Washi is a Professor at the Department of Nutrition and Health, United Arab Emirates University. She received her PhD from Iowa State University, Majoring in Family and consumer sciences education with an emphasis on nutrition. After finishing her degree, she was appointed as the head of the School of Family Sciences at Ahfad University for Women, Sudan, then she moved to King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and appointed as Associate Professor and director of Nutrition & Home Economics division. Then she returned to Sudan and served as the dean of the School of Health Sciences (previously known as the School of Family Sciences) at Ahfad University for Women, Sudan. She supervised many graduate students, lead and participated in nutrition projects, and researchers about gender disparities in nutrition in Sudan. She published extensively in different journals and presented in national and international activities.
